The priority and objective of the Ministry of Digital Transformation for the next year is to provide Internet access to all social infrastructure facilities. This was announced during the "Diia Summit" by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
"We have analyzed what is happening in our country in terms of connecting social infrastructure. We saw that, unfortunately, more than 10,000 such facilities do not have access to a fixed Internet. So now we are actively correcting it. I thank the Ministry of Finance and the Verkhovna Rada for the fact that we already have the potential in the budget of the Ministry to connect almost all social infrastructure facilities next year," the Minister said.
He also noted that next year it is planned to cover all international routes with Internet connection.
Mykhailo Fedorov added that over the past three months of this year, more than 2,000 settlements in Ukraine had received 4G coverage.
"In three months, 2007 settlements received 4G coverage for the first time. And this covers 1.2 million people. With EG or 3G, the Internet has improved in 2,600 settlements. And this is 1.6 million inhabitants of Ukraine. We have a task to cover 95% the territory of the country with 4G coverage in about two years," Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized.
