  • Iryna Vereshchuk: Our military believe in de-occupation and prove it on the frontline

The National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine hosted a scientific and practical seminar entitled “Problems of restoring law and order and security in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine". The seminar was attended by representatives of the security and defence sector. It was also attended by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

“Our military believe in de-occupation and prove it on the frontline. And we, the civil servants, believe in victory to the extent that we take responsibility for the return of normal life to the liberated territories,” the official said.

Iryna Vereshchuk focused on the expansion of the project of the personnel reserve in the de-occupied territories, coordinated by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories and the National Agency on Civil Service. Thus, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Policy are already forming their own personnel reserves.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Coordination Headquarters for the De-occupied Territories held weekly meetings with representatives of other ministries, regional military administrations, the non-governmental sector and international organisations. At these meetings, developments on individual recovery strategies are discussed and consolidated into a larger document.

Such a strategy was formulated before the full-scale invasion. However, the state now faces many new challenges. It is therefore necessary to develop a new strategy to restore life in the liberated areas.

“I would like to thank everyone for their fruitful work. It is very important for us to use the existing and future developments as a basis for decision-making at the Government level,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
