Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, chaired a meeting with representatives of international humanitarian organisations to discuss financial payments to people affected by the man-made disaster at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, together with international partners, has developed a mechanism for additional one-off payments to residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions affected by the flooding.
Following the meeting, the international partners unanimously agreed on the need to provide cash assistance to the victims.
A mechanism is also being developed to provide one-off financial assistance from the state to the affected population.
The amount of such payments will be determined in the near future. The list of settlements and the lists of citizens eligible for cash payments will be determined by the regional military administrations of the affected regions.
“We must ensure financial support for the most affected residents. We are grateful that our international partners are once again supporting our people!” said Iryna Vereshchuk during the meeting.
