German Galushchenko in Brussels: Ukraine is committed to its European path
On September 29 in Brussels, Ukraine’s Minister of Justice, German Galushchenko, discussed with Ana Gallego Torres, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, the prospects for launching the first Fundamentals Cluster.
The Minister emphasized that Ukraine has met the conditions for its launch, and the Rule of Law Roadmap has already become the foundation for reforms in the areas of justice and anti-corruption.
“Ukraine is committed to its European path. We are resolutely moving forward, aligning our legal system with EU standards. This is important not only for technical harmonization but also for strengthening a just and democratic Ukraine—as a future member of the European family,” said German Galushchenko.
He also informed the European Commission representative about the progress in implementing the Rule of Law Roadmap. In particular, he highlighted the introduction of a three-tier management model in the penitentiary system, the adoption of the National Strategy for the Protection of Children’s Rights, the operational plan for 2025–2027 to implement the National Strategy for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men until 2030, and the development of the National Human Rights Strategy, among other initiatives.
