German Galushchenko: The work of the energy system of Ukraine is autonomous and stable

Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 24 February 2022 22:34

Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko assured that the Ukrainian energy system operates in an autonomous and stable regime. This was stressed by the Minister in a comment to Radio Svoboda.

"The energy system is working reliably, everything is fine. Nuclear generation is working as planned (13 out of 15 NPP units are operating). Heat and hydro generation also work full-time," the Minister said.

According to German Galushchenko, there is currently no connection with the Kakhovka HPP.

"According to our latest data, Russian troops went there, but they did not shell on it, they are there physically. The hydroelectric power plant is currently working," the Minister said.

The head of the Ministry of Energy reminded that operation of the Luhansk TPP had been stopped earlier due to hostilities. It was shelled, and "sat down to zero" on Monday. We turned it off. That is, now all the stations are working, except for Luhansk TPP, " he said.

German Galushchenko also assured that there are no grounds to think that districts, cities or regions may be left without light.

"Tonight at 00:00 we were completely disconnected from the power system with the Russian Federation and Belarus. The Ukrainian power system now operates in isolated regime. And we are not exporting electricity now. We work autonomously and stable, " the Minister assured.
