State in a Smartphone: More than 20 million Ukrainians use Diia

For almost 4 years now, Diia has been proving that the State in a Smartphone is not a distant future prospect, but a new reality. Diia has become pop culture and has taken an important place in the lives of Ukrainians: the app is used by more than 20 million citizens. This is every second resident of our country.

"Diia is a revolutionary product that is not like the apps of other countries. It works faster than Uber, Booking, Airbnb, PayPal. We have already digitised and launched hundreds of services. And now 20 million Ukrainians use Diia. We continue to remove bureaucracy, eliminate the human factor, and make interaction with the state easier. Dozens of countries are interested in our experience. But the most important thing is that we have changed the digital culture. Now, every government official thinks about launching an online service in Diia first, not offline," said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation.

Diia has radically changed the philosophy of relations between the state and citizens. Thanks to the app, the state has become a convenient service that anyone can interact with in a few clicks without leaving home. Today, the app includes 14 digital documents and more than 30 electronic services that millions of Ukrainians use every day in various life situations.

Now, instead of going to government offices, standing in queues and picking up documents, you can get the service you need quickly and conveniently on your smartphone. From car sharing to ordering a certificate or extract, from paying a fine to the eVidnovnennia programme, which helps rebuild homes damaged as a result of russian aggression.

At Diia, Ukrainians change their driving licence, re-register their cars, donate to the Army's drone programme and buy military bonds. They also open bank accounts, receive parcels, sign documents and pay taxes with Diia.
