On March 18, 2023, the 28th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition set off from Kyiv to the Vernadsky Research Station.

This is the second annual expedition of Ukrainian scientists under martial law.

Last year, the participants of the 27th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition were supposed to leave for the station on February 28, but due to a full-scale invasion the date was postponed for several weeks.

Despite the military aggression of the russian federation, the work of our polar explorers in the Antarctic has not stopped.

The icebreaker Noosfera is to deliver the participants of the 28th expedition to the station and return the team of the 27th expedition from Antarctica.
