SES chairman met with OCHA team in Ukraine
On June 4, the SES Chairman
Mykola Chechotkin met with representatives of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Ukraine to discuss future cooperation areas and collaboration in
emergency response.
“We are grateful to
the United Nations Office for the Coordination for the continued support and assistance to
both the Emergency Service and our country. In 2014 the SES mobile rescue
centre successfully participated and got certification in the INSARAG international
system, thus it can now join the search and rescue operations abroad. On the
way to the completion of the certification we received great support from the UN
Office in Ukraine. Therefore, we are sincerely grateful for the assistance and
we hope to continue the fruitful and effective cooperation”, said SES Chairman Mykola
Chechotkin during the meeting.

In her turn, head
of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in
Ukraine Barbara Manzi noted that the UN Office is
ready to prolong cooperation both in emergency response and other areas. “We offer to
continue our cooperation in mine action, solving problems of internally
displaced persons, as well as prolong training and raising qualification of SES
specialists. Since the SES mobile rescue centre is to be recertified in the INSARAG
in 2019, we are ready to help you in this issue,” stressed Barbara Manzi. |
