Hanna Onyshchenko: Government is seeking opportunities to ensure rehabilitation of the country and provide assistance to the most vulnerable areas of today
At the Government’s session on March 25, a lot of attention was paid to
the issues of additional investment. This was informed during a briefing following
the Government’s meeting by Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Hanna
Onyshchenko.
According to the Minister, two draft governmental agreements were
approved: the deal envisaging a non-project grant from the Government of Japan
to the Government of Ukraine to purchase medical equipment and another one regarding
special equipment to restore the eastern regions.
"Each of the deals stipulates the provision of special goods for Ukraine
worth 500 million yen, equivalent to approximately USD 4.2 million", the
Minister informed.
Besides, the same day an act was adopted, approving the draft Memorandum
of mutual intentions of the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the
Federal Republic of Germany on obtaining a financial loan worth EUR 500 million.
Apart from that, during its session the Government approved a financing
agreement between the Government of Ukraine and KfW to
the tune of EUR 14 million, the sum to be used to maintain the natural reserve
areas of Ukraine.
