Volodymyr Demchyshyn: Ukraine has succeeded to overcome the heating season
Ukraine has succeeded to overcome the heating season, although it was
very difficult. This was stated by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of
Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn at a briefing at the
Government House on March 23.
"The heating season in Ukraine is not over yet, but given
temperature regimes we can confirm we have successfully ensured it", said Volodymyr
Demchyshyn.
The Minister added that the heating period had been rather difficult, and
Ukraine had started it with a limited supply of coal stockpiles amounting 1
million 400 thousand tons. The situation was complicated as the supply from
producing regions - Donetsk and Luhansk - was terminated, while the deliveries
from Russia were often blocked. "Indeed, the situation was very difficult.
But we managed to stabilize it," the Minister noted.
