PM: The Government this year has fulfilled the principal objectives. Now we ought to implement them
In general, the Cabinet of Ministers in 2014 has completed the set
tasks. Now it is crucial to make all the approved decisions a reality. This was
stressed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the final press
conference on December 30, 2014.
The first task the Government set was taxation of big business.
"This task has been fulfilled. The approved laws envisage taxation of
profitable business," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
The second objective was the need to maximally close tax loopholes and
schemes for tax evasion: "This task was also fulfilled through the
adoption of the law on transfer pricing”.
The Government has done the third task towards legalization of wages.
"This task has also been done, and it envisages incentives. You pay more
wages than last year, you legalize and refuse from “envelopes” - you pay threefold
single social tax," said the Prime Minister.
Another objective concerns small and medium-sized companies, for which all
checks have been banned for a period of 2 years, and the tax burden reduced
twofold.
The fifth task of the Government, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, is cutting
expenditures for the state apparatus and public administration. "We undergo
a 10% reduction in the number, we have halved supervisory inspections. And also
for another six months we have extended the moratorium on all inspections
carried out by the regulatory authorities of Ukraine, except for the State Fiscal
Service and the State Financial Inspection," noted the Prime Minister.
According to Arseniy Yatseniuk, among the extremely important tasks was
drafting and adopting of a balanced budget for 2015. "We have adopted the
law of Ukraine on the state budget, which is well balanced, bearing in mind
today's financial environment," he announced. At this, the PM stressed
that, following the consultations with the International Monetary Fund and the
financial creditors by February 15 the Government plans to make appropriate amendments
to the law of Ukraine on the state budget.
And the seventh task is "to demonstrate the country that Ukraine
has the Government, the coalition, who are capable to take difficult but
correct decisions, even if such a decision is taken at 5 o'clock morning."
"This was the package that had to be worked out by the end of the year.
We have succeeded. What is left now - we have to execute all of it," said
Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
