Sergii Koretskyi: Winter preparations and the district heating situation discussed at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, together with government officials, members of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC), and the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services, met with community heads and region heads at hearings of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister said the participants had discussed, among other things, preparations for winter and the situation in the district heating and utilities sector. The decision on when to start the heating season is made by each community individually, taking temperature conditions into account.

"The Government has fulfilled all of its obligations, and Parliament has also passed some of the key laws needed for international financial assistance. This has made it possible to unblock part of the expenditures, primarily for community resilience plans. All postponed payments will be made step by step," the Prime Minister stressed.

Sergii Koretskyi added that he values the daily work of community leaders and will try to meet with them more often.

He also thanked the Congress for providing a platform for open and constructive discussion of pressing issues with communities.
