Government disburses UAH 26.5 million to purchase 53 houses for IDPs in rural areas
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that will make it possible to provide housing more quickly and efficiently for people who have been forced to leave their homes. The decision amends the government resolution on providing a subvention to local budgets in 2026.
As a result, UAH 26.5 million is being allocated to purchase 53 houses for internally displaced and evacuated persons in rural areas.
The funds will be distributed among communities to build up housing stock for temporary or supported living in the following regions: Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernivtsi. Under the current distribution, the largest number of houses is planned to be purchased in Kyiv region.
Importantly, the decision requires no additional expenditures from the State Budget. All costs will be covered within the already approved budget program.
"Our main task is to give people who have lost their homes because of the war a sense of security and a roof over their heads. Distributing UAH 26.5 million in subvention will allow rural communities to quickly purchase housing for displaced people. At the same time, together with our partners, we are involving civil society organizations in furnishing the houses to create decent living conditions," said Tetiana Kiriienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.
House selection for families is ongoing, and the program continues.
