Volodymyr Groysman: Establishment of peace must be a two-way process

The Peace plan of the President allows the country to return to civilian life and start to solve the accumulated problems, stated Vice Prime Minister-Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Groysman during a live broadcast on the TV channel Ukraina.

According to him, the law "On the special order of local self-government in separate regions of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts" provides elections, in which will be elected representatives of local self-government, who will begin to address issues of separate areas referred to in the law.

"On the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions outside the control of Ukrainian authorities, people have a lot of questions, lots of problems that require immediate solutions. We understand how important it is and we are moving in this direction. But this movement should be backed by the opposite side - the issue of Ukraine’s unity is not a subject for discussion," Volodymyr Groysman said.

However, he has noted that the state is ready to provide internally displaced persons from Eastern Ukraine with everything necessary in order to help them integrate into civilian life.

He also said that the Government on behalf of the President of Ukraine has already collected in August about 750 tons of humanitarian aid for residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"This high-quality stuff, including essential commodities, had been directed to two warehouses of the International Red Cross. But, unfortunately, only 60 tons of the cargo has been delivered in Luhansk region. The rest is still lying at the warehouses of the Red Cross. I emphasize that Ukraine is ready to do it utmost to help and support those who need it," Volodymyr Groysman stated.
