Government approved the Annual National Cooperation Program NATO-Ukraine for 2014
At its regular session the Cabinet of Ministers
of Ukraine approved a draft decree of President of Ukraine “On approving the Annual
National Cooperation Program NATO-Ukraine for 2014”.
The draft decree of the President of Ukraine and the Annual National Cooperation
Program Ukraine-NATO for 2014 [further - ANP-2014] were designed by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in
2013, agreed at the meeting of the Government and submitted to the President of
Ukraine in the beginning of 2014.
However, in
March of 2014 the document returned to the Foreign Ministry
of Ukraine for revision due to the
changes
in the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as well as
fundamentally new internal and
foreign political situation
of Ukraine at that time.
The mentioned ANP-2014 was finalized by the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with participation of the Commissioner for
Partnership of Ukraine with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, taking into
account peculiarities of cooperation under conditions of the armed aggression by
the Russian Federation against our state, in particular, the NATO party elaborated
additional mechanisms of intensifying cooperation in each area and increased
financial range of practically each cooperation program with our country.
The endorsed by the Cabinet of Ministers of
Ukraine draft ANP-2014 is of peculiar importance as through September 4-5 of
this year due to be held the NATO summit in Great Britain, during which it is
planned a meeting of NATO-Ukraine commission at the level of heads of states
and governments.
It is expected Ukraine will become the only
partner country at a high level meeting in 28+1 format.
