Ostap Semerak introduced newly elected Deputy Ministers for European integration

The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ostap Semerak introduced newly appointed Deputy Ministers for European integration today, on August 21, at the Government House.

"The new deputy ministers were appointed yesterday, August 20, at the Cabinet of Ministers’ meeting after a long, intense, but professional and constructive debate," he said.

Ostap Semerak noted that, by doing so, yesterday the Cabinet of Ministers has completed a very important stage of creation in Ukraine of the updated system of coordinating the activity of executive bodies in European integration area".

"The newly appointed deputy ministers will become a valuable link in the process of implementation by Ukraine of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU," the top official added.

 The Minister reminded that for the first time in the history of Ukraine the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk initiated an open public selection of candidates for the key posts.

The candidates were chosen by the commissions set up in each Ministry.

 “Each Deputy Minister meets high requirements that have been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, with experience of project work, experience of work with western partners, fluency in foreign languages and above all – they have an understanding of what is needed to address today," said Ostap Semerak.

“They are the ones who will finally be personally responsible for achieving the set tasks,” the top official summed up.
