Mykhailo Koval: The main task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within ATO - protection of life, peace and tranquility of citizens

The military-political situation in Ukraine is still tense. Separatists in the Eastern regions keep on destabilizing the situation by capturing local authorities, institutions of power structures, etc. In Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the support of the separatists are actively operating sabotage and intelligence groups of the Airborne Troops and Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In order to stabilize the situation and return life of Ukrainian civilians to normal, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are performing tasks under the anti-terrorist operation led by the Anti-Terrorist Center of the Security Service of Ukraine within the powers defined by the Law of Ukraine "On combating terrorism", the Acting Defence Minister noted at a briefing at the Government House on Friday, May 30.
