Yulia Svyrydenko: We are increasing minimum pension payments for family members of fallen and missing defenders
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision to increase minimum pension payments and targeted state assistance for family members of fallen and missing Defenders of Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“The state must support the families of those who gave their lives for the defence of the homeland or went missing,” emphasised the Head of Government.
From 1 March 2026, targeted assistance for families of Defenders who sacrificed their lives or went missing while defending Ukraine from russian aggression will increase.
In particular, the minimum pension payment per non-working family member – including parents, wives, or husbands of fallen Defenders, as well as for one child of a fallen Defender who has been awarded state social assistance instead of a pension – will be no less than UAH 12,810 per person. The current minimum amount is UAH 7,800.
The minimum pension payments and state social assistance will also increase for families where assistance is granted to two or more family members of a fallen Defender (excluding non-working parents, wife, or husband). In such cases, the minimum payment will be no less than UAH 10,020 per family member, up from the current UAH 6,100.
Starting from 1 March 2027, these payment amounts will be indexed annually.
