Yulia Svyrydenko: Government continues to reboot the energy sector

The Government has approved an action plan to renew the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies in the fuel and energy complex. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

“The key task is to appoint new management by replacing the supervisory boards of all state-owned companies in the energy sector,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

In particular, the Government plans to replace public representatives in the following companies:

1. NNEGC "Energoatom" – appointment of new members to the supervisory board.

2. NJSC "Naftogaz" — competitive selection for the supervisory board and formation of the Group's executive bodies (Ukrgazvydobuvannya, Ukrnafta, Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine).

3. PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo" – appointment of a state representative to the supervisory board; competition for the selection of head of the executive body.

4. LLC "Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine" (GTSOU) – replacement of the state representative to the supervisory board; completion of the competition for selection of head of the executive body.

5. NPC "Ukrenergo" — replacement of the state representative in the supervisory board.

6. PJSC "Centrenergo", JSC "Energy Company of Ukraine", JSC "Ukrainian Distribution Networks", SE "Regional Electric Networks", PrJSC "Nizhnednistrovskaya HPP", Kremenchuk TPP — formation of new supervisory boards.

7. SE "Guaranteed Buyer" — transformation into a joint-stock company and formation of a new supervisory board.

8. Updating of statutes, regulations on supervisory boards, and principles for their formation in accordance with the OECD guidelines on corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.

Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the priority task for this week was to approve the new supervisory board of Energoatom.

The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the plan.

“We will report on progress on a regular basis,” said the Head of Government.
