Yulia Svyrydenko: Government prepares measures to reduce road accidents and strengthen road discipline

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a working meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to discuss the current road safety situation.
The Head of Government stressed that the Cabinet of Ministers is preparing a set of measures aimed at reducing accident rates and strengthening discipline on the roads.
In particular, the following areas are being developed:
- strengthening liability for repeated traffic violations, including speeding;
- stricter penalties for drivers who systematically exceed speed limits;
- improving the system of automated and non-automated traffic enforcement;
- legislative regulation of the use of light personal electric transport.
“Final decisions must take into account public input,” Yulia Svyrydenko noted.
The Prime Minister also expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of people who died in road traffic accidents.
“We must do everything to ensure that such tragedies cannot be repeated,” she said.
