Yulia Svyrydenko: More than 147,000 families have been receiving increased child care benefits

Six months ago, the Government introduced new types of child care payments and significantly increased the amount of childbirth assistance. The Government continues to build a systematic state policy to support Ukrainian families with children. This was emphasized by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“Every Ukrainian family that brings a new life into the world during these difficult times inspires sincere admiration. The Government’s objective is to support Ukrainians—those who truly need this assistance. That is why we are consistently developing a system in which assistance to families with children is not a one-time measure, but a long-term state policy,” the Head of Government emphasized.

The Prime Minister outlined the key results of the implemented measures:

- 147,000 families are already receiving increased child care benefits.

Payments are made monthly during the child’s first year of life and amount to UAH 7,000 for all families or UAH 10,500 for families raising a child with a disability.

- 10,000 families have already taken advantage of the eYasla program.

It provides for a monthly payment of UAH 8,000, or UAH 12,000 if the child has a disability. The benefit can be received until the child reaches the age of three. The main requirement is that the applicant must be employed full-time as a salaried employee.

- 32,000 mothers received pregnancy and childbirth benefits.

The benefit amounts to UAH 7,000 per month and is paid for a period of 70 days before childbirth and 56 days after (or longer in the event of complications or the birth of twins or triplets).

- 51,000 Ukrainian women have already received an increased one-time childbirth benefit of UAH 50,000.
