A working group under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources has finalised the document on best available techniques and management practices for glass production, translated into Ukrainian.
This is the fourth European BAT reference document to be finalised in Ukraine.
This is the result of joint work of government, business, scientists and experts within the Working Group.
As a reminder, the implementation of BAT is one of the conditions for Ukraine’s European integration. On Ukraine’s way to the EU, the country has to implement Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions. It requires enterprises to use the best available techniques and management practices and to achieve the maximum permissible emissions set in accordance with them.
The Ukrainian translation of the BAT reference document for glass production was carried out with the support of the project “Best Available Techniques and Management Practices (BAT) for Ukraine”, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources will continue to work on the implementation of BAT in Ukraine to bring the Ukrainian industry closer to European requirements and standards.
