Repairs, decentralised generation for businesses, support for homeowners associations – Government works to ensure sustainable heating season
Ensuring energy supply to critical infrastructure, people and the economy is the main task for the next heating season. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the forum “Ukraine 2024. Independence”.
“One of the main challenges that the entire state is working on is energy. The key task is to get through the next winter,” the Head of Government stressed.
Denys Shmyhal announced three large-scale vectors of work.
The first is large-scale power generation and distribution. This means, in particular, repairs and reconstruction. Funds are allocated for this purpose and the necessary equipment is imported.
The second area is decentralised generation for businesses.
“This is a new programme where large enterprises, including large state-owned ones, are going into the niche of building additional generation facilities. For security reasons, we are not talking about the details, but we are actively creating this market,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The third vector of work, according to the Prime Minister, is decentralised generation for people. These are programmes that provide state support for households and condominiums to provide electricity.
“The main thing now is that the power system remains intact. We are preparing for the winter. We continue to fulfil our tasks,” said Denys Shmyhal.
