
Serhii Shkarlet met with the UNICEF Representative in Ukraine Murat Sahin
Today, April 19, 2022, the Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet met with the UNICEF Representative in Ukraine Murat Sahin. The sides discussed projects aimed at supporting educators that are already being implemented and can be initiated in Ukraine with the assistance of UNICEF.
“In the conditions of full-scale armed aggression of the russian occupation troops on the territory of Ukraine, one of the most important tasks of the Ministry is the organization of the educational process and the support of pedagogical workers. The team of the Ministry mobilized all efforts to ensure the sustainability of the educational process in martial law. We are sincerely grateful to UNICEF, which has responded from the first days to the challenges facing education at all levels, " said Serhii Shkarlet.
Moreover, the parties tackled the key areas of cooperation in the education system during the war.
"Among the main tasks for us continue to be the return of children and their support in the learning process; assistance to teachers, in particular the allocation of cash benefits to certain categories of educators and providing them with laptops; continuation of the educational process and completion of the 2021/2022 academic year. It is important to work in the direction of mine safety and awareness, as well as psychological support for participants in the educational process, "said the Minister.
The conversation also revolved around joint projects for young people and teenagers
In addition, the development of projects for educators and students who are already working successfully with the assistance of UNICEF was discussed - NUMO online kindergarten for preschoolers and the project of psychological support for children and adults "Near".
It should be stressed that the Ministry of Education and Science has initiated an All-Ukrainian project on emotional support of Ukrainians, within which certified psychologists of the Association of Innovative and Digital Education give practical advice to civilians on how to emotionally survive the horrors of war.
