Government allocates nearly UAH 77 million to prepare educational institutions for winter

The Government has redistributed UAH 76.9 million to enable state educational institutions and establishments to operate stably during the autumn-winter period. The funds will be directed towards autonomous energy supply, energy-efficient windows, roof repairs and the arrangement of catering facilities.

These needs will be met using residual educational subvention funds that had accumulated in local budget accounts at the end of 2025 and were transferred to the special fund of the state budget for the Ministry of Education and Science.

The largest amount – UAH 51.3 million – has been allocated to state specialised general secondary education institutions of a scientific, sports, engineering and military profile subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science.

A further UAH 10.7 million has been allocated to institutions that provide methodological and analytical support to educational establishments. This will help them operate stably in winter and support schools and teachers.

UAH 8.1 million will go to the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment and its regional subdivisions. Strengthening their energy resilience will enable the external assessment system to function without interruption for pupils and entrants across Ukraine.

UAH 5.7 million has been directed to out-of-school education – the National Ecological and Naturalistic Centre. The funding will help create proper conditions, in the event of possible power outages, for children developing their abilities outside the school curriculum.

UAH 0.9 million has been allocated to the National Qualifications Agency to ensure the uninterrupted work of the institution during the autumn-winter period.

A further UAH 165,000 has been allocated to the Central Ukrainian Vocational School of Social Rehabilitation. The funds will help the institution prepare for the cold season and organise its work during possible interruptions to the energy supply.

Amid constant russian attacks on energy infrastructure, education remains a state priority. The allocated funds will strengthen the energy resilience of institutions, help maintain continuity of learning and ensure proper conditions for children, young people and teachers. This is an investment in people’s educational opportunities and in the future of Ukraine.
