Prykhystok.Robota updated job and housing search platform for IDPs launched in Ukraine
The largest humanitarian initiative for IDPs, Prykhystok.Robota (Shelter. Work) was presented in Kyiv. The platform is designed to help internally displaced persons find work and housing so that they can fully integrate into new communities and become economically active members of society.
Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, noted that the main idea of the platform echoes approaches to the implementation of social policy, whereby the state offers support programs for displaced persons based on restoring the dignity of citizens.
"Social policy is aimed at restoring dignity. It is not just about giving small amounts of money, but doing everything possible to help people start over. If a person has a place to live and an opportunity to work, they don't just survive, they become part of the local community, pay taxes, raise children, and develop the community. Prykhystok.Robota is an example of a practical solution for combining these two elements," he said.
Denys Uliutin also noted that the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity supports the development of this initiative and has already declared its cooperation by signing a memorandum.
He thanked the project initiators and MPs, in particular, for their support of subsidies for the arrangement and repair of temporary housing for IDPs.
People's Deputy and initiator of the project Halyna Yanchenko said that the Prykhystok program had been launched on the first day of the full-scale invasion, initially as a social media group, through which more than 1 million Ukrainians had found housing.
“Initially, this project was just a way for IDPs to find free housing. However, now it is not just about finding a place to live, it is an opportunity to help people start their lives again,” she said.
It is worth noting that the Prykhystok.Robota platform contains job vacancies that provide housing from the employer; retraining and reskilling programs; has a job search tool using artificial intelligence and provides for cooperation between the state and business. It is worth recalling that the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine has developed a new loan program for the purchase of private housing for IDPs and those living in frontline territories. The state will compensate 70% of the down payment, 70% of the monthly payment for one year, and up to UAH 40,000 in loan processing costs.
