Housing reconstruction, protection of energy infrastructure and increase of export capacity were the key topics of the meeting with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
The Ministry's team, headed by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, discussed with the U.S. delegation the functioning of the Ukrainian Corridor, a temporary export corridor through the Black Sea, as well as the necessary conditions for increasing its capacity. Since August 2023, more than 30 million tonnes of cargo of various types have already been exported.
The parties also discussed the restoration of housing and social infrastructure and the need to use frozen russian assets to further finance Ukraine's reconstruction programmes.
"Much has already been done together with our American partners: from infrastructure recovery and protection programmes to the implementation of necessary reforms. One of the most striking examples is the systematic digitalisation of public services, in particular for housing reconstruction. To date, more than UAH 4 billion has been transferred to applicants in a completely transparent and accountable manner through the use of electronic systems and registers. I am convinced that digitalisation is the key to reducing corruption risks. And we continue to work in this direction. I am grateful to U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham for his personal visit to Kyiv. This is an important signal of continued support in our fight against russian occupiers," commented Oleksandr Kubrakov.
