Situation in energy system as of 19 March

Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 19 March 2024 09:56

No electricity shortage registered; sufficient generation in reserve to cover consumer needs

 GENERATION

The fire was caused by equipment ignition, and there were temporary disruptions in the plant's operation. The fire has been extinguished and the equipment has been put into operation.

TPP and CHPP units were put out of service for emergency short-term repairs, while a thermal power plant unit was reconnected after short-term repairs.

Heat and power generation reserves are being used to meet the needs of consumers. Commercial electricity imports and exports are planned.

The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No outage schedules are applied.

CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

Numerous shelling attacks in Kharkiv region resulted in the disconnection of 110kV overhead lines and blackouts at substations supplying household consumers and the railway (no train traffic disruptions). All consumers were promptly supplied with power from the reserve equipment.

As a result of hostile shelling in Sumy region, a low-pressure gas pipeline was damaged and 26 consumers of an apartment building were disconnected from gas supply.

STATE OF THE GRID

A 110 kV overhead line in Cherkasy region was disconnected for technical reasons, resulting in a blackout at the substation supplying power to residential and industrial consumers. All subscribers have been reconnected.

As a result of technological disruptions, a 110 kV OHL in Donetsk region was disconnected, cutting off power to household consumers.

In Zhytomyr region, substation equipment was switched off, and household and industrial consumers lost power. Within an hour, the equipment was put back into operation and all consumers were supplied with power.

SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.52 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 5,243 MWh. Exports are also planned up to 2,026 MWh.
