Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the first in Ukraine National targeted social program of national-patriotic education for the period up to 2025. The purpose of the program is to improve and develop a holistic state policy of national and patriotic education through the formation and acknowledging of Ukrainian civic identity. This was announced by Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Huttsait.

"National-patriotic education is one of the main vectors of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and of Ukrainian society in general. I am very glad that we have approved such an important document for the first time and will create conditions for the formation of Ukrainian civic identity," the Minister stressed.

Therefore, the achievement of the goal will be held to fulfill four priority objectives:

- formation of Ukrainian civic identity - the implementation of measures aimed at the introduction and establishment of public (national) values, the development of civic identity of the population of Ukraine;

- military-patriotic education - the implementation of measures aimed at forming citizens' readiness to defend Ukraine, public assistance to the security and defense of Ukraine and increasing the level of prestige of military and special civil service;

- formation of scientific-methodological and methodical bases of national-patriotic education - implementation of measures aimed at the development of a holistic state policy of national-patriotic education;

- support and cooperation of state authorities and local governments with civil society institutions on national and patriotic education.

The Program is also designed to form a single course for all central executive authorities, local governments and the public in the field of national and patriotic education.
