Government approves amendments to National Qualifications Framework

On 11 June, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution “On Amendments to the Annex of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 1341 of 23 November 2011.”

The regulatory act was developed to align national legislation with European standards, ensure international recognition of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and Ukrainian qualifications, harmonise NQF terminology with that of European qualifications frameworks, and streamline NQF levels. This will establish a clear and visible connection between qualification levels in the NQF and the descriptors of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning, facilitate Ukraine’s integration into the common European space, and ensure mutual recognition of qualifications with EU countries.

The amendments include adding specific terms to the general section of the annex to Resolution No. 1341, revising and updating certain definitions, incorporating and positioning levels of complete general secondary education within the NQF, and removing the scientific level.
