Government launches Ukrainian Projects programme to support country’s development and reconstruction: Prime Minister
As part of the public investment management reform, the Government is implementing the Ukrainian Projects programme, which provides a systematic approach to the development and reconstruction of Ukraine. This was emphasised by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Strategic Investment Council.
“For the first time, a clear list of national priorities has been established. Now, only projects that are truly needed by the people and the country receive funding,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.
According to the Head of Government, all projects undergo a unified selection process based on criteria of economic, security, and social appropriateness.
During today’s meeting, several issues related to the implementation of the programme were discussed. These included the inclusion in the Single Project Pipeline of initiatives to be carried out with support from Italian partners, the DRIVE project aimed at restoring transport infrastructure, Ministry of Health projects for the construction and reconstruction of new hospital buildings, and several other projects in the energy and transport sectors.
“With limited resources, we are pursuing development and reconstruction here and now. Therefore, the quality of projects, as well as the speed and efficiency of their implementation, are crucial,” the Prime Minister underscored.
