Government increases salaries of budget workers in combat zone
The Government has increased the remuneration of employees of institutions, bodies and organisations financed from the state budget who directly perform duties and tasks in the area of possible and active hostilities. The decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 25 August.
“Despite regular shelling by russia and hostilities, a large number of employees of public sector institutions and organisations, energy sector companies, transport companies and others continue to work in the border regions of our country, ensuring the livelihood of the residents of these territories and providing them with social services. They work under extremely difficult conditions and with today’s Government decision we want to support them financially,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The Government’s decision provides for a monthly allowance for employees of budgetary institutions and organisations working under special working conditions for the period of martial law:
- in the areas of possible hostilities – up to 50% of the base salary;
- in the areas of active hostilities – up to 100% of the base salary.
In addition, employees of social service providers in the municipal sector located in the areas of possible or active hostilities and directly providing social services are entitled to a monthly allowance of up to 100% of their base salary.
Local governments and military administrations of settlements located in the area of possible or active hostilities are also recommended to establish the same allowances for employees of budgetary institutions funded from local budgets.
