Government submits a further three draft laws required to secure international financing to the Verkhovna Rada
The Government has approved and submitted a further three draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada as part of a package needed to secure international financing and cover the state budget deficit, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi announced.
The draft laws concern the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia and the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
Ministers have been instructed to work with MPs on the draft laws at parliamentary committee level without delay.
“The state budget deficit is a serious issue, so the Government and Parliament need to work together in a coordinated way. The Government is doing its part: since the beginning of September, we have approved and submitted eight draft laws for consideration,” Sergii Koretskyi stressed.
The Prime Minister noted that the Cabinet of Ministers is following a clear plan and will adopt all the necessary Government decisions by 1 November.
“I call on all MPs, regardless of their political affiliations, to support the Government, Ukraine and the Ukrainian people by voting as soon as possible for all the draft laws needed to secure financial assistance,” the Prime Minister said.
Sergii Koretskyi stressed that only joint action by the Government and Parliament can stabilise Ukraine’s public finances and secure the funding needed for defence and social expenditure.
“It is important that we all recognise our shared responsibility,” the Prime Minister concluded.
