First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that the country’s underground storage facilities currently hold 14.6 billion cubic metres of gas.

According to him, Ukraine reached its gas-storage target one month ahead of schedule.

“My thanks go to everyone whose daily work has made this possible and who continues to ensure the stability of the gas sector and Ukraine’s energy security: Ukrainian gas producers, the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, Naftogaz and everyone working across the fuel and energy sector. In terms of gas reserves, we are ready for the 2026–2027 autumn and winter period. Work continues in all other areas,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised.
