    Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, posted 02 March 2023 15:02

    Together with its partners, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched a project 5,000 iPads for Ukrainian Schoolchildren to support Ukrainian schools that have been either damaged or destroyed as a result of hostilities. As part of the initiative, educational institutions have already received more than 4,000 Apple iPads. This will allow children to continue their education in an online format.

    Due to the full-scale invasion, many schools in Ukraine have been either destroyed or damaged. Therefore, children cannot continue to study in offline educational institutions and switch to online or mixed formats. But for this, they need educational devices.

    "Digitalization of education is one of the important areas of work of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. In the context of the war, we have even more new challenges, and technological solutions help to solve them. In particular, together with our partners, we are connecting schools to high-speed Internet, providing teachers with laptops and students with equipment that allows them to study safely online or in a mixed format," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

    As part of the initiative, four regions have already received Apple iPads:

    • Kyiv region - 4 schools;
    • Chernihiv region - 2 schools;
    • Kharkiv region - 4 schools;
    • Mykolaiv region - 4 schools.

    Apple iPads allow students to study from any corner of Ukraine. The advanced functionality enables them to receive quality education and saves money on device upgrades over the years.

    Apple iPads were transferred to the balance sheet of schools affected by the full-scale invasion of russia by the Seven Fields NGO.

    The implementation of the initiative was made possible by the synergy of efforts and capabilities of the partners: the project sponsor - ASBISc Enterprises PLC, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Seven Fields NGO.
