  • Situation in the power system as of 18 June
Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 18 June 2024 11:14

Situation in the power system as of 18 June: in Poltava region, power companies have supplied power to more than 55,000 customers who lost power due to shelling; restrictions on electricity supply to consumers are planned

    GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION

Yesterday, at Poland's request, Ukraine received surplus electricity from the country's power system.

Throughout the day, due to a shortage of generation caused by massive russian attacks on energy facilities, consumer restrictions were imposed.

In the western regions, the restrictions were not applied for three hours. The reason for this was the transmission system operator's network constraints and the need to prevent overloading of the cross-section.

Today, hourly outage schedules were scheduled to be applied from 0:00 to 24:00. However, due to the more active operation of SPPs, the restrictions have been cancelled from 10:00 to 15:00. If the situation changes, the information will be updated.

We would like to remind you that there will be no blackouts for critical infrastructure companies and companies that import 80% of their electricity in accordance with the government decree.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

Yesterday, the enemy launched a missile attack on Poltava region. The power supply was cut off to 53,300 households and 2,400 legal entities. All of them have been supplied with electricity.

In Dnipropetrovsk region, gas pipelines were damaged as a result of the fragments of an enemy missile falling.

    STATE OF THE GRIDS

A high-voltage overhead line of a transmission system operator was disconnected in the eastern region.

In Odesa region, an overhead line of a regional power company and a renewable energy facility connected to it were disconnected. It has been brought back into operation.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond is 15.16 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant's needs.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 25,700 MWh. No exports are planned.
