Sergii Koretskyi: Government to provide funding for those affected in Bucha district and develop new protocols for cities during prolonged air-raid alerts

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi briefed the President on two important issues during their meeting.

One is the Government’s forthcoming decision, to be adopted at an extraordinary meeting, to allocate funding from the reserve fund to support and compensate those affected by the tragedy in Bucha district.

The other is the need to adapt the work of the state, the capital, the economy and critical infrastructure to russia’s new attack tactics.

“Following an extended meeting today with the Commander-in-Chief, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the Mayor of Kyiv, and representatives of the Office of the President and the National Security and Defence Council, we are developing concrete proposals for adapting the work of the state to these new conditions,” Sergii Koretskyi said.

Prolonged air-raid alerts affect not only public safety but also businesses, logistics, transport, schools, kindergartens and many other areas of daily life. The enemy is trying to paralyse economic activity in the capital and other major cities, which means that Ukraine’s procedures and response protocols must evolve.

“We are working on measures covering the operation of businesses and public institutions during different types of threat, the organisation of logistics and transport, and the operation of the metro system and other infrastructure. Our aim is to protect people more effectively while enabling daily life in our cities and communities to continue,” the Prime Minister emphasised.

The Government also plans to review its approach to curfew restrictions and civilians’ access to more timely information about aerial threats, without creating additional security risks.

According to Sergii Koretskyi, all the services and authorities involved are working on a comprehensive and carefully considered approach. The necessary proposals are expected to be finalised early next week, presented to the public and then put into practice.
