Due to hostilities, electricity and water supply were disrupted in Dnipropetrovsk region and Kherson; 17 power units and 2 thermal generation blocks were put on standby
Power generation and consumption
There is no deficit in the power system. Domestic generation is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers, and commercial imports and exports of electricity are also planned.
Two TPP units are undergoing short-term repairs. There are 17 power units and 2 TPP blocks in reserve, which will be used if necessary.
In March, the Dnipro cascade is expected to increase its water inflow. This will allow to increase electricity generation by hydropower.
The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No outage schedules are applied.
Consequences of shelling
In Dnipropetrovsk region, hostilities caused a disconnection of an overhead power line, which cut power to a water utility substation and disrupted water supply in Nikopol. Within an hour, the water utility was partially powered by a backup scheme.
Due to the hostilities, a 150 kV overhead line in Kherson region was disconnected and a substation lost power, which resulted in a power cut in Kherson. Consumers have been partially reconnected.
State of the grid
Due to technological disruptions at the 750 kV substation of NPC Ukrenergo in Zaporizhzhia region, equipment was partially switched off. The disruption has now been eliminated and the equipment is in operation.
Due to a technical failure, a high-voltage 330 kV overhead line of NPC Ukrenergo in Lviv region was disconnected, and a 330 kV substation supplying household consumers was de-energised. All consumers were supplied with power via the backup scheme.
Also in Lviv region, a 110 kV overhead line of the distribution system operator was disconnected due to technological failures, resulting in a partial blackout of the 110 kV substation, and a short-term power outage in Zolochiv. All consumers were supplied with power from reserve sources.
Situation at ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased to 15.57 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
Import/export
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 1,153 MWh. Exports to Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova are also planned at up to 2,827 MWh.
