Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi held an urgent meeting with Government officials and representatives of the Kyiv city authorities in response to the severe transport disruption in the capital.

Sergii Koretskyi instructed the city authorities to ensure immediately that the Metro operates properly and in accordance with the decisions adopted by the Government, allowing people to travel home safely and without disruption.

“There are absolutely no grounds for any delay,” the Prime Minister emphasised.

He noted that traffic congestion, queues and crowds at public transport stops did nothing to improve people’s safety or comfort.

“Decisions must be implemented. They must be implemented swiftly and with due regard for the current situation in the city. I expect an immediate response from the city authorities,” he stressed.

Sergii Koretskyi emphasised that people’s safety and comfort were a shared and absolute priority.
