Government takes several decisions to boost defense production

The Government has adopted a number of decisions for the defense industry, Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi reported.

The first is attracting private business to build underground production facilities for defense needs.

"In practice, this means that from now on private companies can build such facilities and later lease or sell them to enterprises that directly produce weapons. This will simplify the process and increase the amount of necessary space, especially amid intensifying Russian strikes," the Head of the Government explained.

The second is a new mechanism under which components for the production of weapons paid for by international partners can be imported exempt from import duty and VAT.

"It is very important that for businesses, we are simplifying and significantly shortening the procedure for inspection and customs clearance of goods through the Single Window," Sergii Koretskyi stressed.
