Recovery and Reform Support Team launched within Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has joined the technical assistance program “Ukraine Recovery and Reform Architecture” (URA), which was launched by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in partnership with the European Union to support important recovery and reform processes. The URA is implemented with the financial support of the EBRD-Ukraine Stabilisation and Sustainable Growth Multi-Donor Account (MDA). The members of the MDA are Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

This was announced by Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

"The Recovery and Reform Delivery Office (RDO) and Recovery and Reform Support Teams (RSTs) are already operating under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and six ministries. And from now on, such a team will work at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Its task is to provide technical assistance in enhancing the capacity to develop and implement priority strategies and reform programs, as well as to formulate policies in priority areas," Vitalii Koval emphasized.

In particular:

  • attracting investment in the agricultural sector,
  • effective land and water management,
  • irrigation development,
  • sustainable food production,
  • agricultural trade facilitation,
  • climate change adaptation, and more.

RST will also support in the process of European integration, in particular, by helping to prepare for bilateral meetings between Ukraine and the EU within the framework of the Association Agreement and the EU accession process.

"We have high expectations from this partnership. I hope that the best specialists in the agricultural sector will join the RST team. So follow the announcements of open competitions and join the changes," the Minister emphasized.
