Government officials and the public coordinated further steps in the implementation of the National Military Memorial Cemetery project
The implementation of the National Military Memorial Cemetery project was discussed at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The event was attended by representatives of the Government, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, veterans' and civil society organizations, historians, and families of the victims.
At the meeting, they discussed the realisation of the project and coordinated further steps in this direction.
"Honoring the defenders of Ukraine is one of the key priorities of the Government's veteran policy. The National Military Memorial Cemetery should become a space of honor, dignity and gratitude to those who gave their lives for Ukraine," emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
He noted that the first start-up complex of the 1st stage has been completed and 6,000 burial places have been prepared. The first burials of the defenders will be held in the near future. At the same time, the construction of the second launch complex is underway.
"There is still a lot of work to be done. The task of the state is to create the proper conditions where everyone can pay tribute to our Heroes," the Prime Minister emphasized.
