The issues of defense, energy security and economy were raised during a meeting in Kyiv between the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Baerbock.
"Ukraine is uniting its main international partners at the maximum. We hope for further support of our state and a strong and staunch stand of Berlin," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine accentuated the crucial importance of countering hybrid threats from Russia. In this regard, Denys Shmyhal stressed that Nord Stream 2 could be used by Russia as an energy weapon against Europe.
According to Denys Shmyhal, despite Russian aggression, Ukraine continues to implement reforms. He thanked Germany for its many years of effective support in this direction, in particular in implementing decentralization reform and in promoting projects for the fair transformation of coal regions.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government congratulated Germany on the beginning of its G7 presidency and expressed hope that support for Ukraine would prolong. Denys Shmyhal also focused on attracting German investors to the implementation of joint projects, in particular in the field of mining.
To wind up, the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that European and Euro-Atlantic integration remain an unvariable course for the Government of Ukraine.
