Sergii Koretskyi: Verkhovna Rada passes 7 bills in first reading needed to obtain international financial assistance

Today the Verkhovna Rada passed, in its first reading, seven bills from the list of those critically needed to keep international financial assistance coming. One more bill has already been passed in full and is now being prepared for the President's signature. The bills cover changes to the taxation and customs clearance of international parcels, small business bankruptcy procedures, the operations of the Deposit Guarantee Fund and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC), as well as a draft law bringing forestry legislation into line with European standards, along with rules on securitisation and covered bonds.

"Our external financing depends on these bills passing their second reading — financing that is critical for balancing the State Budget, paying salaries and pensions, funding social spending, and meeting other pressing needs of the state," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi, thanking the Members of Parliament who backed these decisions today.

The Prime Minister said he hoped the Verkhovna Rada would support these bills both in the second reading and in full.

Also today, the Minister of Finance briefed Parliament on the draft State Budget for 2027.

"I'm counting on the committees to work through this document effectively," Sergii Koretskyi added.
