
Prime Minister: The IMF mission will commence work in Ukraine next week
Ukraine expects to receive the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund under the Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) in early 2021. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a live broadcast of Savik Shuster's Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) program on December 18.
According to the Prime Minister, the President of Ukraine and the IMF announced the start of the IMF mission in Ukraine next week. The PM added, the next tranche from the Fund would arrive in early 2021.
"Two weeks ago, we also received a tranche of EUR 623.5 million of macro-financial assistance from the European Union. And this week, we observed a record interest by investors in hryvnia domestic government bonds in the amount of UAH 51 billion," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister added that these loans were planned in the budget. Therefore, Ukraine will end the year with the fulfillment of all social obligations provided by the current budget.
"We pay all salaries. Today the miners were transferred payments for October and November. On Monday, there will be payment made for December for all miners," said Denys Shmyhal.
