Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko will initiate a separate Government meeting on implementation of the Action Plan on the execution of the recommendations set out in the concluding observations provided by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the initial report of Ukraine on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Vice Prime Minister said this today during a meeting of the Council for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities.

"Presently, out of 21 recommendations, described in details in order to ensure the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, 15 objectives have been fully implemented, 60 - partially fulfilled and are prolonged, 3 - not fulfilled. It is clear that such pace of implementation of the relevant recommendations and the Action Plan are unsatisfactory. Therefore, as Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, I will initiate a separate sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which will be devoted to this issue", Pavlo Rozenko said.

The Vice Prime Minister called on the ministries and central executive authorities (CEA) to accelerate the implementation of the relevant recommendations. "After today's talks there are still 1,5-2 months to draw conclusions and to catch up with the pace of implementation of the Action Plan to implement the recommendations set forth in the concluding observations provided by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. After all, at the Government session, each Minister will report in person. And this will not be a formal report, it will be a serious talk on how everyone fulfills their obligations", stressed Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
