Today, October 25, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak met with the Minister of Defense of Australia Christopher Pyne.

"I am grateful to the people and the Government of Australia for the fact that from the very first days of Russian aggression against Ukraine, Australia fully supports us on all political platforms", stressed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

"I remember in 2014 Australia provided assistance to the Ukrainian Army, supplying uniforms and equipment to Ukraine. Then it was just vital. I express gratitude for the support of sanctions against Russia, as only by joining efforts we can stop the aggressor", said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

During a meeting with Christopher Pyne, Stepan Poltorak emphasized that "in the last four years we have succeeded a lot: we have created an army, we have clearly shaped our strategy, we have clearly defined our priorities. The global security situationis tense, in particular the terrorist challenges, the challenges associated with cybersecurity. Such threats, unfortunately, can be posed even by a neighboring country."

"Good relations between our countries are important, regardless of the distance. We have the opportunity to expand cooperation between defense departments, and the Ministry of Defense expresses commitment to cooperate with the Australian Ministry of Defense in all directions, starting with information exchange and ending with personnel training on cybersecurity issues and an exchange of experience in the development of military infrastructure. I believe that such cooperation will only be useful to the defense departments of the two partner countries, and that the leaders of the defense department of the partner country will visit Ukraine", said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.
