Situation update of General Staff of UAF regarding russian invasion as of 6 p.m., September 2, 2023

Day 556 of the russian full-scale military aggression against Ukraine continues.

During the day of September 2, the enemy launched 2 missile and 34 air strikes, 42 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. 

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

During the day of September 2, there were 15 combat engagements.

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes. 

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the invaders launched an air strike in the vicinity of Chuhunivka (Kharkiv oblast). The adversary fired mortars and artillery at more than 20 settlements, including Khrinivka, Karpovychi, Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Ukrainske, Shalyhyne, Kostyantynivka, Veselivka, Ryasne, Hrabovske (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve, Vovchanski Khutory, Varvarivka, Potykhonove (Kharkiv oblast).

Kupyansk axis: the settlements of Kamyanka and Berestove suffered from the enemy artillery shelling.

Lyman axis: the occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Novoiehorivka (Luhansk oblast). The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Cherneshchyna (Kharkiv oblast), Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery at more than 10 settlements, including Makiyivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Yampolivka, Dronivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Vyimka, Vesele, Pryvillya (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: more than 15 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Kurdyumivka (Donetsk oblast), suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

Avdiyivka axis: the adversary conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Sieverne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Karlivka, Novokalynove, Avdiyivka, Pervomaiske, Stepove (Donetsk oblast).

Maryinka axis: the adversary conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). The settlements of Oleksandropil, Heorhiyivka, Pobieda, Kostyantynivka, and Yelyzavetivka (Donetsk oblast) suffered from the enemy artillery shelling.

Shakhtarske axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Vuhledar and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery at more than 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Staromaiorske, Novosilka, and Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast).

Zaporizhzhia axis: the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The adversary fired artillery at more than 15 settlements, including Levadne, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, P’yatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), and Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk oblast).

Kherson axis: the enemy shelled more than 10 settlements, including Mykhailivka, Novoberyslav, Mykolaivka, Tyahynka, Kherson, Pervomaiske (Kherson oblast).

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct the offensive operation on Melitopol axis, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery fire.

During the day of September 2, Ukrainian Air Force launched 9 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment, as well as 2 air strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the adversary.

During the day of September 2, the Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 5 concentrations of troops, weapons, and military equipment, 12 artillery systems at their firing positions, 2 command posts, 2 ammunition depots, and 1 anti-aircraft missile systems of the occupiers.
