Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection
According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 21, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 4,984 (278 children out of this number, 97 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.
Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 1,031,728 people have been vaccinated. On May 20, 2021, 18,913 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 300 people got CoviShield vaccine, 7,253 – CoronaVac vaccine, 5,040 – Comirnaty vaccine, 6,320 - AstraZeneka.
During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,785 persons, 202 patients died, 12,845 persons recovered. There have been conducted 62,577 testings (26,154 using the PCR method, 11,454 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 24,969).
During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:
- 2,175,382 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
- 1,929,039 people recovered;
- 49,101 people died;
- 9,970,045 testings have been conducted.
