Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of December 15, in Ukraine, there have been officially confirmed 8,416 (412 children out of this number, 447 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,479 persons, 233 patients died, 16,150 persons recovered. There have been conducted 55,856 testing (31,963 using the PCR method and 23,893 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 909,082 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 522,868 people recovered;
  • 15,480 people died;
  • 5,084,649 testing have been conducted.

 The largest number of confirmed cases in the last 24 hours was registered in Kyiv city (1,559), Odesa region (830), Cherkasy region (655), Zaporizhia region (599), Poltava region (575).

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
